In a bedroom, light shouldn't illuminate — it should settle the room. Stay in a warm temperature between 2700 and 3000 K, and choose a material that filters — travertine, silk, linen — rather than an opaque shade that throws a hard patch onto the ceiling.

Two wall lights either side of the bed beat a central pendant: the light arrives at reading height, without dazzling whoever is already asleep. For a pendant above the bed, allow Ø 30 to 40 cm and a height of 60 to 70 cm above the bedside table.

What diameter above a table?

The interior designers' rule: a diameter equal to one third or one half the width of your table.

  • Table 70 to 100 cm: Ø 30 cm
  • Table 100 to 140 cm: Ø 40 cm
  • Table 140 to 180 cm: Ø 50 cm
  • Table over 180 cm: Ø 60 cm, or two Ø 40 spaced apart

Hang the light 60–70 cm above the tabletop.

What diameter for a whole room?

For a ceiling light, the floor area decides, not the furniture.

  • Up to 8 m², corridor or WC: Ø 30 cm
  • 8 to 12 m², bedroom or office: Ø 45 cm
  • 12 to 18 m², main bedroom: Ø 52 to 60 cm
  • 18 to 25 m², living room: Ø 70 cm
  • Over 25 m²: Ø 80 cm

Which colour temperature?

For a bedroom or living room, stay in warm white, between 2700 and 3000 K: that is the light that brings out travertine, silk and rattan. Neutral 4000 K suits an office or kitchen. Cool white 6000 K belongs in utility spaces — it flattens natural materials.

When will I be delivered?
